La Fête des Oranges!

Balthazar brings a touch of festive cheer to the heart of Covent Garden in partnership with Cointreau with the launch of La Fête des Oranges.


This winter will see all-day dining brasserie Balthazar transform into an epicentre of vibrant colour and festive cheer in the run up to the Christmas period with the launch of ‘La Fête des Oranges’ by. From Wednesday 8 November, Balthazar will celebrate the most magical time of year with a fanciful installation, delectable cocktails and a limited-edition dessert created in partnership with Cointreau, the iconic orange French liqueur at the heart of classic cocktails, such as the original Margarita, the Cosmopolitan and the Sidecar.



Balthazar, which formerly housed Flower Cellars, will pay homage to its roots as London’s historical flower market by immersing guests in the scents and warmth of the holiday season. Upon arrival, guests will be met by orange and golden wreaths and brightly coloured orchards surrounding the restaurant façade. The smells of joyful wintertime will lead guests into the restaurant, where they can enjoy festive dishes and limited edition cocktails, created in partnership with Cointreau. Cointreau orange and golden hues have been weaved into the restaurant interior with Christmas trees decorated in miniature Cointreau bottles and further wreaths placed around the restaurant, creating a warm atmosphere for those dining in.


2023 marks the 75th anniversary of the Margarita Cocktail, and to celebrate, Balthazar and Cointreau have launched a limited edition Christmas Margarita (£13.50), a blend of Cointreau, Tequila Blanco, Gingerbread Liqueur and Lime Juice. The Menu also includes a Festive Mai Tai (£12.75) served with Cointreau, White Rum, Dark Rum, Mandorla, Lime Juice and Orange Bitters Snow White Lady (£14.75) featuring Cointreau, Sloe Gin, Grapefruit Juice and Miraculous Foamer, but not least, the Cinnamon Sidecar (£15.25) created from Cointreau, Cognac and Lemon juice.


Those with a sweet tooth can order the Cointreau Baba (£10.25), which is made with Clementines, Glazed Pecans, Chantilly Cream and Warm Cointreau Chocolate Sauce, it is the ultimate Christmas indulgence.


Guests will also be able to enjoy classic dishes from their new Winter a La Carte menu such as Buffalo Mozzarella (£11.50), served with clementines, basil and glazed roasted pecans, Endive and Roquefort (£9.75), served with walnuts, pear, cranberries, chives, and house vinaigrette. Meanwhile, Balthazar’s Roasted Rump of Lamb (£29.50) is accompanied by butter beans and chorizo cassoulet with herb crumb and Baked Cod Fillet (£23.50), served with braised celeriac, tenderstem broccoli with black olive dressing or as a vegetarian option the Balthazar’s Risotto of Wild Mushrooms (£18.95) with goat’s cheese, chestnut crumb and truffle oil is the perfect warming dish.


For those looking to celebrate New Year’s Eve in the utmost style, the restaurant will be playing host to a glamourous evening of live jazz played by the Oriana French Jazz Trio. On Sunday, 31 December, from 8pm, until midnight, guests can count the new year in whilst indulging in a Balthazar’s Seafood Platter (£80.00) for two which includes a spoiling bottle of Chateau Moncontour Vouvray Brut
