The driving force behind Brella Shoppe is Shauna Cowit, an eternal optimist and award-winning marketer. Shauna's journey began with an 8-year tenure on the brand creative team at Nickelodeon, one of the largest and most dynamic children's media brands in the world. "If any brand knows how to be unapologetically authentic, it's Nickelodeon," Shauna says. There, she learned how to break the mould, be loud and silly, all while getting the point across to the audience. This approach, dubbed "following your kidstincts," became a core philosophy for her.


Having worked on marketing campaigns for beloved shows like Blue's Clues, Peppa Pig, PAW Patrol, and many others, Shauna's passion for turning frowns upside down was clear. Her "toxically optimistic attitude" found a new outlet in umbrellas. "I just loved having an outfit-enhancing tool for rainy days that made me want to get out of the house instead of sit, sulk, and raincheck my plans," she told us. It was when her favourite umbrella broke, Shauna realised there was a gap in the market for a high-quality, fashionable umbrella brand in the US.


With multiple Promax, Webby, and Shorty awards under her belt, Shauna spent almost two years of research and development to create a fantastic product. She launched Brella Shoppe with the vision of rebranding umbrellas as fashion accessories. "If we have category leaders in trendy water bottles, toothbrushes, and even tampons, why isn't there a trendy, luxury umbrella brand in the US?" she asks. Brella Shoppe aims to revolutionise the rainy day experience and change the aesthetic of rainy days.


Each Brella is more than just an umbrella; it's an optimistic touch to an otherwise gloomy day. Named after people special to Shauna, like her late dog Miley and her nieces and nephews, each umbrella carries a personal story.
