Favourite exercises: Running outdoors, Cycling, Planking, Yoga
Kate has been known to incorporate a generous amount of cardio and weights into her fitness routine, and is said to work out daily alone, without a personal trainer!
Kate finds the time to run as often as possible when in Norfolk, sometimes with Charlotte in her buggy and their dog Lupo at her side. She also enjoys going cycling with the family, as a way of spending time together and getting some healthy activity in at the same time. She also enjoys rowing.
Though her workouts alternate all the time, her favourite technique is reportedly planking—with the Duchess employing different planks into almost all of her hour-long workouts.
The three different types of planks that Kate employs are the normal front plank, as well as the side plank (held with your body one one side) and the prone sky dive plank (involving lying on your tummy and gently raising your chest off the floor).
How you can emulate her:
If you aren’t lucky enough to live in the beautiful surroundings of Norfolk, or similar countryside, cycling on roads can feel dangerous and uninspiring; why not get an exercise bike to train like Kate whilst staying safe and warm inside?!
To get her toned arms and abs, Kate loves to row on the open water. If you don’t fancy going out on the river, why not try a rowing machine instead?

Favourite exercises: Running on the treadmill, Yoga, Resistance training
Meghan’s mother is a yoga instructor, so it comes as no surprise she loves to hit the mat and contort herself into poses regularly; she started learning yoga from her mother when she was just 7 years old, hence why she is so advanced now. She uses the practice to keep her muscles lean and strong. In terms of cardio, Meghan loves running and used to run almost every day, reportedly getting up at 4am whilst filming suits so she could get her workout in before a busy day of work.
The high-impact of running however has reportedly started to put strain on her joints, especially her knees, so she opts for shorter runs on the treadmill instead of pounding the pavement.
How you can emulate her:
Instead of hitting the pavement in winter when it’s dark and cold before and after work, investing in an at home treadmill, or gym membership, is worth its weight in gold. Treadmill running is beneficial for many reasons; it puts less pressure on joints than a concrete pavement, you can set the gradient and speed as high or low as you want, and it’s inside hence your body temperature can be more regulated!
Jumping on the cross trainer is a great way to incorporate Meghan’s love for both resistance training and cardio into your workouts. The resistance on your arms from the cross trainer, coupled with the heart-pumping movement will give you a fantastic, low-impact workout that will be highly effective whilst being easy on your joints!
