This enchanting spectacle, designed for children aged 3 to 5 and their families, transports audiences into a realm of wonder and fantasy, exploring the magic of flight and the boundless possibilities of the imagination.

Skydiver

Skydiver is the second instalment of a trilogy conceived by Aidonopoulou, each part symbolically delving into different aspects of early childhood: care, play, and risk-taking. Inspired by her fascination with fantasy, storytelling, and surrealism, Aidonopoulou creates an immersive experience that ignites the senses and sparks the imagination.

As the curtains rise, audiences are welcomed into a world where whimsical characters and fantastical creatures roam amidst the clouds. Through a mesmerizing fusion of movement, sound, and visuals, spectators are swept away on a journey through a dream-like landscape, where they soar alongside flocks of birds and butterflies, exploring the boundless expanse of the sky.

With a movement vocabulary that mimics the sensation of flying and falling, a cinematic music score that transports listeners to distant realms, and an enchanting skyline scenography illuminated by ambient lighting, Skydiver is a sensory feast that captivates audiences of all ages. Each element of the performance is carefully crafted to evoke a sense of awe and wonder, inviting viewers to lose themselves in the magic of the moment.

Commissioned by Little Big Dance and co-commissioned by Dance Umbrella and Strike a Light festivals, Skydiver is a testament to Aidonopoulou's artistic vision and creative prowess. For Aidonopoulou, Skydiver represents more than just a performance - it's a celebration of the limitless potential of the human imagination. As she reflects on the creation of she show, she shares her hope that audiences will dare to embrace the adventure, allowing themselves to be swept away on a journey without limits.
