The Ivy Soho Brasserie: Musical Cocktails through the years

One of London's highly known collection of restaurants is The Ivy with many foodies and celebs keen on visiting the different locations, it has certainly build up its reputation and firmly maintained this status. After visiting them at The Ivy Soho Brasserie's second birthday its clear to see why.

In celebration of their second birthday the Soho Brasserie has released 10 brand new cocktails featured on the menu, paying homage to some of Britain's most loved artist including, The Beatles, The rolling stones and Wham. Now, The Ivy's are well known for the class and sophistication each venues holds and the Soho venue didn't let us down.

Lets have a look at some of the new cocktails starting with 'Here Comes The Sun'. This particular cocktail is paying homage to The Beatles. It incorporates a mixture of highball saffron-infused olmecs altos plata tequila, Earl grey sake, Earl grey syrup, blood orange puree and fresh orange topped with yuzu caviar. You can be enjoying this beverage for just £9.50. HINTON Rated 7.5/10

The next cocktail was called 'Satisfaction' this particular cocktail was a tribute to The Rolling Stones (1965). This one is for the gin lover; coupe a fresh blend of Plymouth sloe gin, Luxardo Maraschino liqueur, Lemon juice and hibiscus & Rose tea blend, topped with the iconic Rolling Stones lip stencil. This one will cost you £9.75. HINTON Rated 9/10

This next one was in homage to the late great David Bowie, named 'Ziggy Stardust'. This cocktail is dressed in gold and topped with 'black champagne foam' with Ketel One Citroen vodka, Pierre Ferrand dry curaçao triple sec liqueur, vanilla syrup and lemon juice. This one was my favourite of them all. Not the most aesthetically pleased but the best in flavour. HINTON Rated 9.5/10

This next one named 'London Calling' pays tribute to The Clash. Great for those 'Whiskey Lovers' who don't love a strong powerful whiskey. Being bourbon based this smoked infused cocktail was flavoursome. With Makers mark barrel aged bourbon, Courvoisier VSOP cognac, Angostura bitters, Dom Benedictine liqueur finished with Peychaud's bitters and served in a smoked cloche. Whiskey lovers, this is a must try! HINTON Rated9/10

The Final one is called 'Electric Warrior' - T.Rex. As you can see (Picture on the right) this one has a vibrant green glow which complements Wyborowa vodka, Williams Pear Puree, Belle de Brillet liqueur and egg white. This one for me had a very strong vodka taste with a hint of pear. HINTON Rated 6/10

Other cocktails on the new music inspired menu included; Bitter Sweet Symphony (The Verve), China Girl (David Bowie), Re Light My Fire (Take That), Club Tropicana (Wham) and Fool's Gold ( The Stone Roses). This whole menu as a collection is fantastic. We should be celebrating people from Britain and over the last fifty to sixty years as we have produced some of the worlds best talent and its great to see The Ivy Soho is giving the recognition that they deserve!
