Dish Cooking Studio

If you are looking for something fun to do in the Toronto area, well look no further. If you are trying to improve your cooking skills or just plan a fun experience by yourself or with a group of friends, ‘Dish Cooking Studio” has classes mostly every day with a variety of dishes to make.

I joined their Sunday morning vegan baking class where I got to make multiple different deserts that were all vegan, from scratch! You are greeted at the door with some coffee and water and if you are feeling a little adventurous, a bar is on sight for your Sunday morning mimosas, wine or beer. For me I was right in my element.

The staff was amazing and you could tell they were passionate about what they do, which made the experience that much better.

First they give you a run down on kitchen safety, how to properly maneuver in the kitchen and use the equipment for the safety of you and for those in the kitchen with you. We were all then put into groups; this is a great way to meet new people and let a little bit of your healthy competitiveness come out.

The first thing on the menu for our group, was a vegan brownie with coconut ice cream and oatmeal raisin cookies; they were actually supposed to be chocolate cookies but I am the 1% of humans that do not fancy chocolate… only in small doses, the brownie was enough for me.

While all of our brownies and cookies were baking, we then switched groups to do the other deserts, which were vegan matcha swirled “cheese” cake and “butter “cream cupcakes.

The chefs have all the ingredients out for you in the proper measurements for the recipe, and stay by your side to help you with any questions you have.

Once everything is baked and decorated we got to plate our deserts and taste everything we made, what we did not eat we got to take home, and there was a lot left over!

There are so many different classes almost every day from ramen to Italian to just basic knife skills in the kitchen; you are bound to find a class just for you! If you would like to check out their classes, you can do so on their website under the drop list “cooking school” you can click class calendar and find a class that best suits you and your schedule.
