Nourished by Los Mochis: Melissa Hemsley brings mindful indulgence to London this January

January invites restraint. Plates shrink, menus simplify, and pleasure is often the first thing to be edited out. But this winter, Los Mochis is taking a more generous view of wellness. One that believes nourishment should be vibrant, flavour led and deeply satisfying.
Throughout the month, Los Mochis London City and Los Mochis Notting Hill partner with food author and wellbeing advocate Melissa Hemsley to present Nourished by Los Mochis, a carefully considered menu edit that balances nutrition with pleasure, and intention with indulgence.
Where wellness meets flavour
Rather than stripping dishes back, the collaboration celebrates what food can give us when chosen thoughtfully. Eight signature plates have been selected for their restorative qualities, supporting gut health, immunity, brain function and heart health, all while remaining unmistakably Los Mochis in character.
The menu draws on ingredients known for their nutritional benefits, from probiotic rich ferments to fibre packed vegetables and healthy fats, designed to gently support the body through the colder months without sacrificing colour, texture or joy.
Among the gut focused choices is the Chipotle Miso Soup, built on a deep umami kombu broth with white miso, tofu and mineral rich seaweed. The Pollo Ensalada follows with chilli lime grilled chicken, avocado and leeks, finished with a yuzu sesame dressing that delivers brightness and balance in equal measure.
For brain supporting benefits, the Los Mochis Guacamole pairs hyper fresh avocado with pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, pomegranate and chia, while Bang Bang Cauliflower Tacos bring bold spice and crunch alongside fibre rich roasted cauliflower and crisp white cabbage.
Heart centred dishes include the visually striking Beetroot Tiradito, showcasing golden, Chioggia and heirloom beets layered with avocado crema and fresh herbs, and Carne Asada Tacos made with grass fed flank steak, offering both depth of flavour and nutritional integrity. The California Maki Roll completes the selection with crab, avocado and cucumber wrapped in seasoned rice and seaweed, delivering hydration, healthy fats and omega rich goodness.

A brighter start to the day
For breakfast and weekend brunch guests, the La Condesa Omelette offers an energising start, delivering ten plant points in a single plate. Clarence Court eggs are paired with mushrooms, heirloom tomatoes, peppers, herbs and fresh salsa, creating a colourful and protein powered beginning to the day that feels both comforting and revitalising.
A drink designed for renewal
To accompany the menu, Hemsley has created an exclusive Pomegranate and Hibiscus Refresher for Los Mochis. Designed to rehydrate and uplift post festive bodies, the drink blends pomegranate, Mexican hibiscus, lime, coconut water and sea salt. Naturally rich in electrolytes and vitamin C, it offers gentle detox support while remaining refreshing and celebratory.
Shared values beyond the table
This collaboration is rooted in more than nutrition alone. Both Hemsley and Los Mochis are longstanding supporters of The Felix Project, London’s largest food redistribution charity. Through this partnership, Los Mochis has donated more than one million meals to date, reinforcing a shared commitment to tackling food waste and supporting communities in need. For every meal enjoyed during the collaboration, another is donated to someone who needs it.
Hemsley describes the partnership as a natural alignment of values, praising the restaurants for their colourful, vibrant and inclusive approach to food, as well as their ability to cater to a wide range of dietary needs while remaining joyful and flavour driven.
