The Music Review W/ Darren Jones
Its not often a guy who doesn't like typing/ writing unless its to send an invoice or to update social media is asked to do a monthly music review for an awesome up and coming magazine BUT when Curtis Hinton mentioned this I thought why the f.. I mean why not!!! So anyway how do I begin other than to say this will not be about any tune from The Greatest Showman as that film has messed with my head as the sound track is by far one of the best movie sound tracks ever....Hang on did I, a house head just own up to that? I better move on fast. Anyways my track of the month is by my favourite house music producers Stefan O'Brien and Alex Prinzivalli aka Tough Love. You might remember these guys for releasing hits like Dreams, So Freakin' Tight and Pony which filled dance floors all over the world but now they have exceeded that with their latest creation called Dancin' Kinda Close featuring Guz.
When Stefan sent me this track on Facebook I opened it up and must have listened to it constantly through out my 45min lunch break. Everything from the vocal, the layers of sound and the drops are just perfect in every single way. My favourite part to this track though is the drop as its just the way it goes quiet and you hear that vocal "I need you to shake it like that ah ha ha", "I see that you like it like that ah ha ha" with the drums tapping gently, the synths doing something freaky and then building up to that almighty drum roll with sounds rocking ya brain like you have just smashed back a slush puppy and then the vocal just on its own with the title in there "Dancin' kinda close...I feel a lil" and POW the drop goes down, the vocals are back in there and you cant help but smile wishing you was on a dance floor in a foreign country with a beer in ya hand...... aaaaaaaaand breath. This tune for me is going to be my summer anthem and I look forward to playing it every single week when i'm out on the circuit and I strongly advise any lover of cool dance music to buy this tune right NOW!!!!
