The crossroads

The crossroads, we all come to one. Maybe not now, maybe soon, maybe we have or we’re yet to inevitably hit one, so what is a crossroad?

“ A crossroad can be seen as an intersection or two or more roads, or perhaps a point which a crucial decision must be made which will have a far-reaching consequence.”

So, what does this mean? Where am I going with the months writing? The thing is we will at some point in our lives come across a crosswords of decisions, life choices, and similarly decisions in which will inevitably take us places weather we like them or not but where ever the crossroads is, it is exactly where you have been leading up to and it’s taken you to the exact time and life choices to get you exactly where you are.

Crossroads are sometimes inevitable in you have to make the decision that may not be what you want, or perhaps like, but also in the same instinct crossroads can be a time where you can take back control and ensure that you are in the direction of which you exactly want to be.

So when do crossroads appear? For me or many it’s often during these down times or bad times, we’re forced into a decision perhaps work life? Social life or even personal life. Where we either must make a decision that’s going to perhaps help us, perceive to help us. Or in some cases help others.

My advice would be from having experienced this from a first-hand perspective through both working career and personal career. Take a leap of faith, take opportunities and trust the crossroads don’t fight it.

“Most cross-roads come from either opportunity coming your way, when your gut is telling you something, or change is needed. Listen to the signs and signals.”

Here’s why and it may help if you’re in the crossroads.

“You’re can’t go back and change the beginning. But you can start where you are and change the ending.”

When you’re at a crossroads. Sometimes life closes doors because it’s time to move forward. Sometimes life knows you won’t move unless circumstances force you. Trust the crossroads, trust the transition. Change is good. Without it, life can get a little mundane. So, try something new. Embrace change.

A year ago, everything was different. Now that I look back, I realise a year can do a lot to a person.

For me? The last 10 months have been the realest ever. I got a wakeup call. Had my heart broken, got my shit together. Lost the person I thought would be in my life for a long time. Went from being friends with everyone to keeping my circle small and staying low key. I’ve learned that nobody is down for you like you’d think.

So, remember during crossroads and when you’re stuck in thought. Although the past can hurt, the way I see it you can either run from it or learn from it. Bad things happen, learn what you can and keep moving forward.

When you least expect it, something great will come along. Something better than ever. Don't be afraid to do something just because you're scared of what people are going to say about you. People will judge you no matter what.

Life is short remember life goes on. Grudges are a waste of perfect happiness. (I had to learnt this the HARD WAY.) Laugh when you can, apologize when you should and let go of what you can’t change. Love deeply and forgive quickly. Take chances and give everything you have no regrets. Life is too short to be unhappy. You must take the good with the bad, and smile when your sad. Love what you’ve got and always remember what you had. Learn from your mistakes, but never regret. People change and things go wrong, but always remember life goes on.
