Today the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, have announced they are expecting their first Child. The couple who married 5 months ago in Windsor have just touched down in Australia as they start their 16 day tour of Australia and New Zealand.

It has been widely reported the new royal, who will be seventh in line to the thrown is expected to be born in Spring 2019, Kensington Palace said the couple were "delighted to be able to share this happy news with the public".

The Queen plus other senior royals were informed about the pregnancy on Friday 12th October, as members of the Royal family gathered for the wedding of Princess Eugenie's wedding, where the newly wed Meghan started speculations after she wore a long dark blue coat.

The Prime Minister Theresa May has congratulated the couple, "My warmest congratulations to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex on the happy news they are expecting a baby in the spring. Wishing them all the best."

The mother of the Duchess of Cambridge Doria Ragland says she is "very happy about this lovely news" and "looks forward to welcoming her first grandchild".
