HM Visits: Kitchen at Holmes

Kitchen at Holmes, opening on Saturday 1st June, will be a new all-day dining destination in the heart of Marylebone. Kitchen at Holmes will be a seasonally inspired restaurant offering a diverse range of cuisine for Londoners, locals and visitors alike. Introducing a buzzy new addition to the area and honing in on the village feel of Marylebone, Kitchen at Holmes, based on Baker Street is set to be a leading dining destination in the local area.

Stefano Motta, the experienced Head Chef at Kitchen at Holmes, has created a diverse menu, showcasing the perfect blend between some of the best seasonal produce as well as creating dishes using different influences and techniques. Working with leading chefs such as Maurizio Morelli and cooking in numerous culinary hotspots around the world such as New York and Italy, Motta has employed his experience and expertise to create a menu which lends itself seamlessly to the characterful neighbourhood. “My time in London has played a remarkable part in my career. As a chef, my cooking style has evolved and is constantly changing due to the exposure to so many wonderful different cultures in this city. The menu I have created will reflect the outstanding food that London has to offer”.

The restaurant area will offer an open kitchen concept, allowing guests to witness Motta’s creations being prepared. Serving breakfast, lunch and dinner and boasting approximately 50 covers, the menu will feature dishes including; Scottish scallop tartare with yuzu basil and green chilli, courgette spaghetti with pistachio, basil and smoked ricotta and a hearty Sunday roast with greens, roast potatoes, honey roasted parsnips, Yorkshire pudding and jus. The bar will welcome diners for a relaxed, homely breakfast 7 days a week, with dishes such as coconut & popped quinoa bowls with blueberries and banana, and buffalo ricotta pancakes served with orange marmalade.

The carefully curated menu will showcase British produce sourced from acclaimed and local suppliers highlighting the Kitchen’s desire to support local artisans and specialists such as James Knight of Mayfair, the sustainable fishmongers.

Sitting alongside the Kitchen will be a bar area, housing a large array of whimsical, creative

cocktails and carefully curated spirits and wine. From the ‘Sherlock Lantern’ cocktail which playfully hints to the legendary detective who resided on Baker Street to The Sherlock & Sons Gin, the in-house mixologist will entertain guests with his playful concoctions. At the bar, guests will also be able to order breakfast

alongside their coffee or nibbles later in the day to accompany their chosen tipple, such as goat’s cheese bites or blue fin tuna tartare.

Commenting on the announcement, Motta says, “I am extremely excited to be part this project and announce the launch of Kitchen at Holmes. For me, it was important to create a menu that is hearty and diverse yet also including a touch of playfulness. Whether it is breakfast, lunch or dinner we have created something for everyone.”

With an expert eye for contemporary design, award-winning design agency Digital Space has created the vision for Kitchen at Holmes, the result of which is a contemporary yet intimate setting with an overarching casual feel, there is also a terrace on Baker Street perfect for the summer months – all creating a stylish, yet laid-back atmosphere.
