London’s West End is about to get a new kind of buzz this December. Market Place Leicester Square is preparing to open, and it is no ordinary food hall. This five-storey landmark beside the Odeon cinema will transform one of the city’s most famous squares into a playground of flavour, music and culture.
The scale alone is staggering. Sixteen independent kitchens will serve an international mix of dishes, each one led by a trader with their own story and signature taste. From street-style classics to contemporary plates designed for sharing, the space will be a snapshot of London’s diversity under one roof. Three bars will keep the rhythm flowing, from cocktails crafted in seconds to relaxed balcony pours that let you take in the pulse of Leicester Square below.

Yet Market Place Leicester Square is about much more than food. It has been imagined as an experience that evolves throughout the day. A dedicated events space will host live screenings of major sporting and cultural moments, while a rolling programme of comedy nights, DJ sets and live music will ensure the atmosphere remains electric long after the last main course leaves the kitchen.
Private dining rooms will give groups and businesses their own corner of the action, designed to accommodate everything from after-work gatherings to weekend celebrations. In a city where space and energy are at a premium, the new Market Place promises both in abundance.
Blake Henderson, Managing Director at Market Place Food Halls, describes the opening as a defining moment. He explains that what began as a single neighbourhood site in Peckham has now evolved into a city-wide movement. The Leicester Square flagship, he says, represents everything Market Place stands for—outstanding food, great drinks, and an atmosphere that makes everyone feel part of something bigger.

The setting could not be more fitting. Leicester Square is a global stage, famous for film premieres, crowds of tourists and late-night wanderers. Now, with the arrival of Market Place, it gains a fresh destination that brings together locals and visitors in a shared celebration of food and culture.
Market Place Leicester Square joins the brand’s growing list of successful locations in St Pauls, Vauxhall, Harrow and Peckham. Each venue has built its reputation on independent traders, craft drinks and events that reflect the soul of its neighbourhood. This new flagship is set to take that ethos to new heights, cementing Market Place as one of London’s most exciting names in modern dining.
