Study also revealed that 1 in 3 Brits have used a chat-up line on somebody before.
Men are more likely to be flattered by someone using a chat-up line on them, while women are more likely to think the person is cheesy.

Are we using chat-up lines in real life?
The survey also looked into whether Brits have actually used chat-up lines in real life, as well as how they feel about people using them.
According to the research, 1 in 3 people in the UK have tried their luck with a chat-up line. And of those people, 95% had been successful at least once, while 80% had been rejected at least once.
Splitting the results by gender, 44% of men had used a chat-up line before, compared to just 21% of women. And while 91% of the men who had used chat-up lines had been successful at least once, women had a 100% success rate!
How do we feel about chat-up lines?
According to the survey, 48% of people have had a chat-up line used on them before. And of those people, 72% said they’d gone on a date with someone who’d used a chat-up line, but 83% had also rejected someone for using one.
Finally, 1 in 3 Brits said they felt chat-up lines are cheesy, with only 6% saying they think they’re offensive. Splitting the results by gender again, men were more likely to be flattered by a chat-up line, while women were more likely to think they were cheesy.
