Following the recent Spice Sundowner, Drummond Street are pleased to announce the second event in their series of community-led activations, the Drummond Street Samosa Walking Tour, taking place Wednesday 4 October from 6pm.

The celebration of all things samosas will commence from 6pm where every 15 minutes groups of up to 15 guests will be led on a guided walking tour through the different traders. Hosted by a local guide, the history of the street and the stories of the various traders who have been there for over 4 decades will accompany tucking into the Indian street food snack of choice, each with their own spin. Drummond Street institute, The Spice Shop will be offering an array of chutneys to accompany the famous samosa recipes and to take home to enjoy later, with a Spice Shop gift bag each.

At the end of the tour, each guest will be asked to place a vote for their favourite samosa at nearby Chutney’s, which will then be counted, and deliberated by our celebrity judging panel, and the public’s favourite Drummond Street Samosa will be announced this year’s Samosa Wallah 2023. Our celebrity judging panel includes: British-Bengali singer song writer, Tara Lily, best-selling author of Empireland, Sathnam Sanghera and Great British menu winner of 2023, Avinash Shashidhara.

Post announcement, Chutney’s, will be serving up a complimentary buffet with specials such as briyani, chaat and an array of curries, alongside a free beer for each guest to celebrate this year’s champion.
