A limited edition tribute to precision and progress
Milestones matter most when they are honoured with intent. To mark one hundred and forty five years since its beginnings in Tokyo as a humble clock and watch repair shop, Seiko looks back to one of the most defining chapters in its technical history. The result is the King Seiko 45KS Two tone Redux, a limited edition that reconnects the present with a moment when Japanese watchmaking announced itself on the world stage.

Originally launched in nineteen sixty nine, the King Seiko 45KS was not simply another elegant timepiece. It was a declaration of accuracy. Entered into international watchmaking competitions, it became both Seiko’s and Japan’s first certified Chronometre, setting a new benchmark for mechanical precision and establishing credibility far beyond domestic borders.
A silhouette shaped by ambition
The twenty twenty six redux remains faithful to the character of the original. Its curved case profile, narrow link bracelet and discreet date window all echo the purity of the nineteen sixty nine design, while the twelve o’clock index is cut like an arrow feather, a subtle symbol of intention, direction and Seiko’s continued pursuit of progress.
Beneath box sapphire glass sits a grey Nanako stamped pattern dial, a deeply considered detail rooted in the brand’s earliest history. This distinctive texture was used by Seiko’s founder Kintaro Hattori and Seikosha head engineer Tsuruhiko Yoshikawa on the brand’s original pocket watches, marking the moment Seiko evolved from repairing timepieces to creating its own. Here, that pattern returns as both homage and quiet assertion of identity.
Gold colour accents introduce a contemporary warmth to the design, lending contrast and refinement without overpowering the disciplined geometry beneath.

Precision refined for today
At just nine point nine millimetres in depth, the watch is powered by Seiko’s slimmest automatic in house movement, the calibre 6L35. Offering bi directional winding, a forty five hour power reserve and accuracy rated at plus fifteen to minus ten seconds per day, it represents modern mechanical efficiency distilled into an exceptionally slender form.
This balance of slimness and substance reinforces the King Seiko philosophy. Technical excellence delivered with restraint, elegance and purpose.
The King Seiko 45KS Two tone Redux is available for pre order from the sixth of January via Seikoboutique.co.uk, priced at two thousand seven hundred pounds, with deliveries beginning in February.
In revisiting the watch that defined its pursuit of accuracy, Seiko does more than celebrate an anniversary. It reminds us that progress is rarely about abandoning the past. Sometimes, it is about refining it, sharpening the arrow, and aiming once again with absolute precision.
