HM Visits: MOTO - The UK's first Sake bar & shop arrives in Covent Garden
Who knew something as simple as a grain of rice could produce many incredible flavours, well the Japanese for one. Sake is an alcoholic beverage which is produced by fermenting rice and Moto - The Uk's very first Sake bar and shop based in Covent Garden is it's newest home.
Opening At the end of November one of London's newest bars comes to the market with what is probably one of the biggest niche's in the market at the moment. Speaking to the owner he told us, "There are restaurants in London that sell Sake, buts its all the same" , And it's far to say Moto isn't selling the same Sake. Boasting a display of 21 different Sake flavours and 3 ranges of strengths they will certainly be putting themselves ahead of the rest.
Moto isn't all just Sake (Although its most of it) The Niche establishment brings you a taste of Japan with a small snacks menu bringing yet more flavours to your experience. Sake isn't the only drink you can get served at this bar, keeping to the Japanese theme you can also get your hands on Japanese Whiskey, Japanese Gin, Japanese Craft beer's and even some Sake based cocktails (Non-sake Cocktails are available also).
It's fair to say Moto isn't the biggest bar in Covent garden but its impressive to see what they have done with the space. With seating around the bar and tables and seating still available for a comfortable experience you can see they have done the best with the space they have. The decor in this Japanese slice of heaven is light and very impressive, with art work of the process of how Sake is created is something we really liked, its not just random art to make the venue modern it something they have thought about and something that fits very well into the bar. The Light coloured wood and wall's makes the bar seem a lot more open and the impressive slick display of
the Sake bottles behind the bar is Iconic.
Moto is definitely a place you should be getting down to soon. You can find our more information on Moto here: motoldn.com
