HM Visits: Tanner & Co

As we continue our search for London's best things to do we visited Tanner & Co on Bermondsey Street. Tanner & Co is what I would call a tradition London Relax venue. The vibe tends to be good, got a unique twist to it generally a cool place to be. Now in London there are many places like this so you've got to set yourself apart from the rest and I think these guys have got it perfect.

The venue has a School gym theme, with gymnastic beam bars as seating, ropes having off of the walls and even an events room which is designed like a school hall including a food service area just like the ones from when you were back in school... just happier people serving it and tastier food.

During our visit we were treated to a three course meal. starting with Black truffle, smoked bacon, cheese loaded chips. Now as someone who doesn't just like food but absolutley loves it this was an interesting one for me because normally you wouldn't put these 3 ingredients together but I think the chef over at Tanner & Co have got it spot on these were without a doubt some of the bet chips I have eaten. It's always a worry that with truffles they could use the truffle oil which has an over powering flavour but they haven't they've used actual truffles, the meal couldn't of got off to a better start.

We then moved on to out mains, I had Ground rib steak burger, now for me a burger is something special and there is a fine line between a good burger and an incredible burger and these guys were the right side of that line. It's was a nice thick juicy burger dripping with cheese I really couldn't fault it at all. We also tasted the Red Leicester mac n cheese, which again was an incredible surprise. It's not something i'd usually have off of the menu as they all seem to taste the same but this one stood apart from the rest, perfect amount of cheese, again couldn't fault it. Now this was quiet a heavy meal so I didn't want something to heavy until i saw on the menu Ronnie's apple pie with Clotted cream and then I was sold. The pastry on the apple pie was perfect the clotted cream was flavoursome. Just perfect.

The guys at Tanner & Co out did themselves the service was great, very friendly staff the food was exceptional really could not say a bad word. The venue was beautiful too, including a loverly outside area for the summer time.
