While it’s crucial to observe a healthy diet alongside exercise to see the best results, that doesn’t mean that there aren’t some workouts that are more effective and better value, especially if you’re looking to lose weight this New Year…


Women - Top five workouts which burn fat the FASTEST, revealed

Taking into account that the average woman weighs 11 stone, these are the five best exercises for burning fat the fastest:

Ocean Finance’s research has revealed that exercising on a stationary bike to be the fastest way to burn off a pound of fat. When working out vigorously, this burns an average of 782 calories every hour – meaning that it takes just 4 hours 28 minutes to drop a pound.


Surprisingly, in second place is step aerobics, which burns an average of 744 calories every hour. It, therefore, takes an average of 4 hours and 42 minutes to burn off a pound of fat, as a man (that weighs the average weight of 13 stone).


Then, in third place is the ski machine, which allows you to burn a rather impressive 706 calories every hour. It, therefore, takes just three minutes less than five hours to burn off a pound.

For the average weighing many (13 stone), these are the best exercises for burning fat the fastest:

Whilst the top five exercises are the same as those listed for women, naturally, as men tend to weigh more, it’s easier for them to lose weight. For example, the stationary bike came in first place – with the average man burning 932 calories in an hour. This means it takes just 3 hours and 45 minutes to drop a pound of fat.


In second place is step aerobics, burning 888 calories per hour and, therefore, taking just shirt of four hours to burn off a pound of fat. Then rounding up the top three is the ski machine, taking 4 hours and 8 minutes to lose a pound.
