London’s Square Mile has no shortage of restaurants that dazzle, yet every so often something arrives that feels genuinely fresh. This November marks the opening of The Greenhouses in The City, a private dining destination that brings a little magic to Long Lane. Hidden behind foliage and warm light, the venue quietly transforms the idea of gathering in the heart of London by offering guests their own beautifully styled greenhouse for intimate culinary celebrations.

The Greenhouses

A setting that blends soft elegance with a touch of escapism, The Greenhouses has been designed as an oasis within the most fast paced corner of the capital. Walk inside and the city hum begins to fade behind climbing greenery, floral accents and the soft glow of overhead bulbs. Each private space seats up to twenty guests, making it an ideal choice for festive dinners, milestone birthdays, corporate gatherings or any occasion where privacy and atmosphere matter as much as the meal itself.

The Greenhouses has curated a Festive Winter Menu that leans into the warmth of Middle Eastern flavours. Challah bread arrives still steaming and ready to be torn apart and shared, paired with dips such as white tahini, sweet harissa, roasted pepper with whipped feta and a scattering of pomegranate for brightness. The starters bring together bold flavour and thoughtful balance. Charred aubergine with raw tahini meets date molasses and pistachio. Crispy duck rice croquettes sit on a smooth sun dried pepper and sumac puree with a light finish of parmesan.

Mains continue the celebration of depth and fragrance. Chermoula chicken with aubergine stew and charred vegetables is served with bulgar and a delicate rose harissa yoghurt. The roasted lamb is rich and comforting, accompanied by braised shoulder tagine, cous cous and mint yoghurt. Desserts deliver the final moment of indulgence with sticky date pudding dressed in salted tahini and rose petals.

Beyond the dining spaces, The Greenhouses introduces two new additions that expand its world even further. The first is a physical boutique from Floward, the florist known for sourcing fresh blooms directly from ethical growers and delivering curated arrangements across the UK. Here the brand leaves the digital space to create a calm, elegant floral studio where guests can pick up hand crafted bouquets every day of the week from morning until late afternoon.

The second addition is The Deli by Baretto, a spot that brings Italian simplicity into the flow of the day. Guests can arrive from breakfast through mid afternoon for specialty coffee and soft focaccia sandwiches, a combination that adds a relaxed rhythm to the venue’s offering.

The Greenhouses is only just beginning its growth. From April, a rooftop terrace with space for fifteen to twenty guests will open, along with a second greenhouse designed for larger private groups of up to forty. Those interested in securing dates or learning more about the spring expansion are encouraged to connect with the team or register interest directly.

For now, The Greenhouses in The City stands as a rare find, a quiet sanctuary built for moments that deserve something more than the usual. It is a place to gather, to savour and to step briefly into a calmer world hidden within the centre of London.
