A Week of Claws and Champagne with Burger & Lobster

There’s something unapologetically decadent about lobster. It’s food with ceremony, a dish that arrives with tools, bibs, and the quiet understanding that you’re about to get gloriously messy. Yet for many, lobster still carries the weight of being out of reach — a luxury saved for birthdays, anniversaries, or seaside summers. This September, Burger & Lobster are out to shatter that perception with the biggest World Lobster Day they’ve ever staged, and London is about to find itself in the grip of claw-cracking fever.

Burger & Lobster

The celebrations stretch far beyond the dinner table. At the heart of it all is the Ultimate Lobster Supperclub, a one-night-only spectacle at the Oxford Circus restaurant on 19th September. It reads like a love letter to shellfish: a communal feast where champagne flows on arrival and the menu celebrates lobster in every imaginable form. Croquettes, buttery rolls, mac ‘n’ cheese oozing with claw meat, and of course, whole lobsters to tackle head-on. Between courses, a lobster-cracking masterclass ensures diners are schooled in the fine art of drawing maximum flavour with minimum mess. It’s theatre, dinner, and education rolled into one indulgent evening.

For those who prefer their culinary adventures with a side of generosity, Bring a Mate, Get a Plate returns on the big day itself, 25th September. The premise is deliciously simple: introduce a friend who’s never tried lobster, order a lobster main, and their initiation is on the house. It’s an invitation to rewrite the rulebook, lobster doesn’t have to be an exclusive club, it can be shared, rolled into a brioche bun with lemon mayo, or even perched atop a beast of a burger with fries on the side.

And because no festival of food is complete without a little chaos, Burger & Lobster are sending their lobster bikes back onto the streets of London and Brighton. On 17th and 18th September, the bikes will appear like edible mirages, dishing out free mini lobster rolls to passers-by. It’s part marketing, part guerrilla dining, and entirely about the joy of putting lobster in unexpected hands.

There’s also purpose behind the indulgence. £1 from every bill during the celebrations will be donated to the National Lobster Hatchery, supporting conservation efforts to protect and replenish native lobster populations along Britain’s coastline. It’s a reminder that luxury doesn’t have to be wasteful, sometimes it can be regenerative.

Burger & Lobster

Burger & Lobster’s mission is clear: to make lobster less intimidating and more inclusive. With supperclubs, street-side surprises, and communal feasts, they’re showing that claw-cracking doesn’t belong only to the privileged few. This September, everyone’s invited to roll up their sleeves and get stuck in.
