Belgravia Institution, Motcombs Opens in St John’s Wood

After more than four decades, Motcombs, is excited to announce its second opening in the North London neighbourhood of St John’s Wood, on 14th November 2024. The new restaurant will bring Motcombs "home away from home" charm to the area with a menu that will celebrate the best of British, European, and Asian cuisine, complemented by an new New York-style pizza menu exclusive to the St John’s Wood location. 

Located on Circus Road, just a short walk from the iconic Abbey Road Studios and Lord’s Cricket Ground, the new Motcombs promises an elegant yet relaxed dining experience. Under the expert guidance of Head Chef Rafal Novak, (formerly of Gordon Ramsay and Salty Girl), the menu will stay true to the brand’s heritage with a focus on seasonal, locally-sourced ingredients. Open daily for breakfast, lunch and dinner, guests can expect  signature dishes such as Eggs Benedict with honey-baked ham, Motcombs Shepherd’s Pie, Dover Sole (grilled or meunière with a hint of lemon), and its famous Vodka Penne in a creamy tomato sauce with a touch of chilli. Exclusively at St John’s Wood, the menu will also introduce New York-style pizzas, bringing a unique twist to the dining experience with their bold, inventive flavours and thin, crisp crust.

Alongside the food menu, guests can enjoy a wide range of beverages, from brunch favourites such as Bloody Marys and Peach Bellinis to signature cocktails such as the Motcombs Old Fashioned and Espresso Martini. The drinks menu includes champagnes, a curated selection of red, white, and rosé wines, as well as mocktails, beers, and soft drinks to suit all tastes, complemented by a range of bar snacks which includes a trio of Posh Dogs - elevated gourmet hot dogs - offering a playful yet refined take on a classic. 

In keeping with Motcombs’ signature aesthetic, the St John’s Wood location effortlessly combines warmth and familiarity with contemporary elegance. The front dining room is illuminated by two striking chandeliers, while a traditional wood-panelled bar with a marble countertop will provide a space where guests can enjoy light bites and drinks. The decor will continue to celebrate Motcombs love for art, with a collection of paintings displayed throughout the dining room.
