Britain has a new four-legged star, and he is every bit as cheeky as he is charming. Meet Oakley, a one-year-old Border Collie from Liverpool who has gone from muddy paws in the park to gracing more than 50,000 jars of Peamutt Butter – the nation’s cult dog treat adored by pets and their owners alike.

Earlier this year, Oakley was crowned the winner of Peamutt Butter’s nationwide hunt to find the “real Peamutt.” His prize? Swapping the familiar cartoon mascot for his own winning smile on limited-edition jars that are rolling onto shelves this autumn. From the end of September, dog owners browsing the aisles of Tesco, Sainsbury’s, ASDA and beyond will be greeted not by a drawing, but by Oakley’s mischievous grin.

Chosen from over 200 hopefuls across the UK, Oakley charmed the judges – including celebrity vet Dr Scott Miller – with his irrepressible personality. More than just a handsome face, Oakley embodies everything Peamutt stands for: playful, slightly nutty, and completely irresistible. Whether he is digging holes, splashing through mud, or snuggling up for a cuddle, Oakley does it all with that signature sparkle.

For his owner Linda Rose, the transformation from family pet to brand ambassador has been surreal. “To see him shortlisted was a thrill, but to actually win was unbelievable,” she says. Since then, Oakley has posed for professional photoshoots, road-tested Peamutt’s latest launch – the Squeezy – and worked the crowd at DogFest. “He’s a natural in front of the camera,” Linda laughs. “We can’t wait to spot his face on the jars. Everyone we know is heading out to get one.”

It is not just bragging rights and fame that Oakley has secured. His prize package included a year’s supply of Peamutt Butter and a £250 donation to Carla Lane Animals in Need, his chosen charity. It is a reminder that behind the fun, there is a heartwarming community spirit baked into this competition.

Peamutt Butter’s Managing Director, Richard Duerr, says the brand was overwhelmed by the response. “All the dogs were brilliant, but Oakley stood out. He has that mischievous edge that makes him the perfect fit for us. It has been a joy working with him and welcoming him into the Peamutt family.”

As for Oakley, his days are now filled with training classes, Instagram-worthy snapshots and the kind of public attention usually reserved for human celebrities. With a personality this big and a face now immortalised on the UK’s favourite pooch-friendly spread, who is to say this Border Collie’s star power stops here?

For now, though, Oakley is content with a jar of Peamutt Butter, a muddy field, and a belly rub or two.
