London’s hottest al fresco dining destination reopens on Sloane Square

Writer: Hinton MagazineHinton Magazine

‘Summer in Sloane Square’ returns this season with a stunning new-look al fresco setting for drinking and dining, created in partnership with Royal Court Theatre, The Botanist and Côte.

Now in its third year, this year’s pop-up sun terrace has a new look and layout with ‘staging’ created The Royal Court to make the most of the atmosphere of one of London’s most beautiful, paved squares, under the dappled shade of the trees, with the bubbling fountain in the background. The community collaboration will offer over 150 al fresco seats and delicious food and drink, surrounded by bunting and festoon lighting as the sun goes down:

The Royal Court Theatre is returning with Court in the Square, serving a summer menu featuring small sharing plates, burgers, including the famous vegan Royal Court Cheeseburger, and fresh salads to accompany their specialty drinks offering. Sip on (iced) coffees or teas, juices and soft drinks throughout the summer, or enjoy the range of draught and bottled craft beers, summer cocktails and sustainable wines. Complimentary WiFi is available, and all proceeds go to support new writing at the Royal Court.

The Botanist has created a perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of the busy city. Partnering with The Botanist Gin, hand-crafted using 22 foraged ingredients and made at one of the only B-Corp certified distilleries in the world. Guests can enjoy a dedicated botanical gin and cocktail menu, including the classic Botanist Gin and Tonic, and the appropriately named Chelsea Martini, a refreshing blend of Botanist Gin, strawberry liqueur, pineapple juice, lime juice and blackberries, whilst also sharing some Mediterranean inspired small plates and pizza, and taking a moment to enjoy the wonderful London summer.

Chic French restaurant, Côte returns in partnership with Laurent-Perrier. Alongside a broad Laurent-Perrier Champagne range, Côte will offer a selection of timeless cocktails with a twist, including the summer classic, Pampelle Spritz, as well as chilled rosés and crisp whites. French-inspired dishes on the menu include freshly prepared baguettes, the iconic Croissant Croque Monsieur, and Côte’s popular sharing board featuring a selection of cured French meats such as truffle saucisson sec and Coppa del sec, alongside a creamy baked French Camembert with crispy herb breadcrumb.

Supported by Cadogan and the Royal Borough of Kensington & Chelsea, ‘Summer in Sloane Square’ is part of a borough-wide initiative to encourage the neighbourhood’s café culture. It will be complemented by a packed programme of summer events, including the King’s Road Coronation Party on 6th May and London’s largest free flower festival, Chelsea in Bloom, from 22nd May 2023.
