The streets of Taipei have always thrived on contradiction. Between the glint of modern architecture and the hum of night markets lies a city that continues to redefine itself. This season, Taipei Fashion Week SS26 brought that duality to the runway, blending heritage with forward-thinking design. The event spotlighted the new guard of Taiwanese creativity, where culture met innovation and identity found new form.
More than a showcase of garments, SS26 became a study in perspective. Four designers stood at the heart of it all — Daniel Wong, Story Wear, WEI.TZU-YUAN and Yentity — each presenting a collection that spoke to the country’s evolving conversation between tradition and modernity.
Daniel Wong – The Conviction of Workwear
Daniel Wong’s latest offering, titled CORE, was a reflection of conviction under pressure. His garments, inspired by resilience and the weight of perseverance, reimagined workwear as a symbol of purpose rather than utility. There was strength in every stitch, but also a quiet confidence in the way structure and simplicity intertwined.

Industrial references met comfort-driven craftsmanship through eVent PTFE membranes, ensuring waterproofing and breathability without sacrificing refinement. The collection’s tonal palette of greys and neutrals echoed machinery and metal but never lost its sense of warmth. On the runway, live performances from Grammy-nominated vocalist Chen Xin-Yue and hip-hop artist Li Jie-Ming transformed the collection into something more than fashion. It became a movement, an expression of endurance and artistic conviction.
Story Wear – The Marketplace of Emotion
For Story Wear, fashion was never just visual. It was lived. Their presentation, Taiwan Marché The Taste of Life, turned sustainability into theatre, crafting an immersive experience where garments met music, food, and storytelling. The show unfolded in four acts — Lucy, Deep Blue Sea, About Love and Too High to Say Hi — each an emotional journey through connection, solitude, and reconciliation.

Every piece celebrated the act of creation. Recycled materials met Austronesian-inspired craftsmanship, reflecting a brand that places culture and conscience at its core. Collaborations with Mien Tofu, Yosifu, and Abacell banana fibre highlighted the power of community, blending artistry with social purpose. Story Wear proved that sustainability need not whisper. It can sing.
WEI.TZU-YUAN – Fashion Among the Clouds
WEI.TZU-YUAN’s collection, Above the Floating Clouds, carried a rare sense of lightness. The designer drew from Taiwanese humanism, translating optimism into shape and texture. Each garment was a meditation on clarity, offering fluid silhouettes and luminous fabrics that seemed to breathe.

Through colour and light, the collection invited the audience to look upward, beyond the noise of fast fashion and into a space where style becomes reflection. It was a poetic exploration of what it means to stay hopeful in turbulent times, bringing together sustainability, gender dialogue, and environmental awareness under a single aesthetic vision.
Yentity – The Ceremony of Self-Love
Closing the season with introspection, Yentity’s Her Wedding explored the ceremony of self. Rejecting the conventions of bridalwear, the designer reinterpreted the wedding as a moment of independence and quiet power. Structured tailoring and pared-back lace replaced embellishment, presenting a portrait of self-celebration rather than tradition.

The accompanying digital film, following two women at different life stages, amplified this philosophy with tenderness and poise. Artist Chen Pin-Han’s works, printed across the fabrics, gave the collection a cinematic quality — an ode to movement, wisdom, and growth.
A Cultural Renaissance in Motion
Taipei Fashion Week SS26 was not simply about what was worn but what was said. Each collection became a statement of intent from a new generation of Taiwanese designers refusing to choose between past and future. Together, they proved that fashion here is no longer about imitation. It is about identity. And in Taipei, that identity continues to evolve with courage, consciousness, and an undeniable sense of style.
