British tailoring brand Thom Sweeney has taken a bold step in its international expansion with the opening of its first standalone boutique in Miami. The new store, located in the prestigious Miami Design District, marks a significant milestone for the London-based label, which has built a global reputation for contemporary elegance and impeccable craftsmanship. Founded by Thom Whiddett and Luke Sweeney, Thom Sweeney is now the first British tailor to establish a presence in Miami, bringing its signature style and bespoke expertise to the city’s fashion-forward clientele.

Designed by acclaimed interior designer Billy Cotton, the 2,500 sq. ft. boutique embodies Thom Sweeney’s sophisticated aesthetic while drawing inspiration from British Deco yachting life—a fitting tribute to Miami’s vibrant coastal culture. The space seamlessly blends classical materials with modern design, creating an environment that reflects the brand’s fusion of tradition and innovation.


“The design is inspired by British Deco yachting life, which felt appropriate to Miami. A blend of classical materials applied in a modern way,” Cotton explained.

Thom Sweeney’s new boutique is set to redefine menswear in Miami, offering a refined mix of bespoke, made-to-measure, and ready-to-wear collections. As part of its commitment to creating an immersive luxury experience, the store also features “Sol’s,” a bar and lounge named in honour of Luke Sweeney’s late father-in-law, legendary hotelier Sol Kerzner. This addition ensures that the boutique is more than just a retail space—it is a destination for discerning customers seeking not only fine tailoring but also an inviting atmosphere to relax and connect.

Thom Sweeney has spent nearly two decades redefining contemporary tailoring. Established 17 years ago, the brand opened its first location in Mayfair in 2009, crafting bespoke pieces by hand. Expansion soon followed, with a New York boutique opening in 2017 and the unveiling of The Thom Sweeney Townhouse on Old Burlington Street, London, in 2020. Most recently, the brand launched its Los Angeles Loft in 2024, further cementing its global presence.
