Know Your Limits - “You can do anything, but not everything” - James Hatton BSc
Know your limits
It’s been a while nearly two months in fact. That, I must apologise; why? Because someone out there I know will read this, and I hope that they are still sticking around to see that one humble tip might help change their life. So, this month as we roll back into monthly columns, I want you to think of the term know your limits.
What do you think this means?
As my opening quote states remember ‘you can do anything, but not everything.’
In a modern world that each individual seeks perfection whether that be financial, social, or perhaps, in themselves, we need to remember that when as individuals we become triggered into our mental health patterns such as anxiety, depression, sleeping problems, suicidal and more it is then and only then when we see these recurring patterns and cycles return we have to take a step back and think.
What is my limit?
What is triggering these feelings?
How can they be stopped/reduced?
Think, “Know your limits, know when to give, know when to demand, know when to say no, and know when enough is enough.” – James H. Bsc
Remember we are but only human, we can and only will be able to manage so many things, we all have our own limits and it’s in knowing when to take back control and understanding when these limits are triggers is when you begin to take back control of your mental health well-being.
Saying no to someone, should not be a problem.
Saying no to an event, should not be a problem.
Saying no to your heart, is not a problem it’s hard but it’s right.
And there is so many more scenarios to fit. Remember you won’t be everyone’s slice of pie just as everyone is their own slice of pie; we all have our own cup of tea. Be you. And never settle.
So be not only respectful to other peoples limits but to that of your own, when you take back control of your limits, you may not stop any of the mental health problems but you will reduce the persistence of when they appear.
Know your limits and never try to exceed them.
You can and will control you, remember that.
Until next month, be kind, love your others, and give a daily compliment.
